About This Webinar.

What if the drug did not have to adapt to the device? In this webinar, we explore how a more adaptable approach to autoinjector platforms can accommodate evolving drug profiles and patient needs, while giving pharmaceutical companies greater freedom to create a device suited to their portfolio and brand.

Traditional off-the-shelf autoinjector platforms provide a valuable starting point for device development, but their predefined design envelopes can limit how far a device can be adapted when drug, patient or portfolio requirements change. As pharmaceutical pipelines evolve, this creates an important question: how can companies retain the efficiencies of a platform while gaining greater freedom to configure the device around their specific needs?

In this webinar, we will explore a more adaptable approach to autoinjector platform development. Using the MGS A.i.r. Platform™ as an example, we will examine how a tested core technology can be configured around different drug characteristics, including viscosity, fill volume, pre-filled syringe requirements and injection time. We will also look at how patient and user considerations can influence activation profiles, audible feedback, device geometry and other aspects of the injection experience.

The session will connect these technical and human factors considerations with the development process itself. We will discuss how early feasibility assessment, modelling, prototyping and user testing can help teams investigate the fit between an asset portfolio and a device platform before committing to full development. The A.i.r. development approach starts from tested core technology and uses drug adaptation, user adaptation, 3D modelling and simulation to progress towards functional devices for verification.

Finally, we will consider what platform customization means beyond technical performance. Shape, colour, labels, embossing and other design elements can support brand representation, while material choices, part count and end-of-use considerations introduce another dimension to platform configuration.

The webinar is intended for professionals involved in combination products, drug delivery, device development and product strategy who want to understand how adaptable platform thinking can connect drug requirements, patient needs and efficient development.

Built Around the
Challenges You Face.

Addressed Challenges
Fixed platform design envelopes can make it difficult to accommodate different viscosities, fill volumes, syringes and injection-time requirements across a drug portfolio.
Patient and user needs vary, yet conventional platform choices can restrict the ability to tailor activation, feedback, device geometry and the overall injection experience.
Developing a dedicated autoinjector from scratch takes significant effort, while standard platforms may not provide the flexibility required for evolving portfolio needs.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Learn how an adaptable autoinjector core can be configured around drug parameters such as viscosity, fill volume, syringe dimensions and desired injection time.
Understand how patient and user insights can inform activation force, audible feedback, injection time and physical design when configuring a device platform.
See how feasibility assessment, modelling, prototyping and early user testing can connect platform customization with a structured path towards device development.
